Shortly before the video ends, Docherty tells Gillian to “go and f*** yourself” before wiping tears from his eyes.
A woman confronted a convicted paedophile on camera to ask him why he stayed in the town where he had abused two young girls.
Sex offender Brian Docherty was blasted by Gillian Martin, who demanded to know how he could ‘show his nerve’ after being found guilty of the crimes .
Docherty, who will be sentenced in March, was filmed at a bus stop in Kilsyth, Lanarkshire.
Gillian later added the footage to Facebook where it has been viewed more than 140,000 times and shared thousands of times.
The one min 48 second clip shows shamed Docherty, 51, standing at a bus stop as he is harangued by Gillian in front of stunned members of the public.
He is left speechless as she demands to know why he is still in the area and even appears to shed tears during the incident.
Gillian says: “Brian, is there a reason why you are still in Kilsyth?
“This guy is a paedophile who is up at court in March.
“How can you show your nerve in Kilsyth after what you’ve done?
“I’m a bit shaken here, I’m that angry. How dare you show your face round here, our children are not safe from the likes of you.
“Are you not going to defend yourself, the kids couldn’t defend themselves could they?
“Don’t bother getting upset there is no need for that.”
Docherty is facing jail after admitting he sexually abused two young girls over a three year period, reported the Daily Record .
He pleaded guilty at Airdrie Sheriff Court and confessed to abusing one of the girls, when she was aged between six and 10, on various times between December 1, 2010 and May 31, 2014, at three separate addresses in the Kilsyth and Cumbernauld area.
He admitted acting in a lewd, indecent and libidinous way towards the young girl.
Docherty also admitted to repeated sex attacks on a second female child on various occasions between April 1, 2012 and November 30, 2013, again at all three addresses in the Kilsyth and Cumbernauld area.
The second girl was aged between 10 and 11 years-old at the time of the attacks.
He repeatedly induced her to sit on his knee, made comments about her underwear and attempted to handle her private parts.
Docherty has moved from his home address but one horrified neighbour said: “We were all absolutely disgusted to hear what he had been getting up to and he didn’t hang about once it had came out what he had done to those poor girls.
“You don’t expect things like that to happen on your doorstep and I hope he gets everything that’s coming to him. He has to go to jail for this.”
Prosecutor Ann Francis Hilley told how Docherty repeatedly induced a girl to sit on his knee, kiss him and bathed her and then sexually attacked her.
She said: “This came to light when one of the girls told a friend who in turn told a teacher and the police were called. The second girl then revealed she had also been abused by him.”
Outraged viewers of the video also left comments after watching the clip on Facebook.
Alison Lyons said: “Gillian well done you !!! You spoke for every parent in Kilsyth – what a cheek for him to be upset !!! You should be really proud of yourself – I’m glad to live in a town that still cares xxx”
Lyndsay McKeown added: “I’m gobsmacked, you just never know the evil that’s lurking on your doorstep. Gillian it was a brave thing to do. You see him wiping a tear from his eye, the cheek of him what about the poor people he has abused, their life in tatters because of him.”
Docherty, a first offender, is due to be sentenced at the end of March.
Sheriff Derek OCarroll deferred sentence for reports and told him: “It is highly likely you will end up in prison, but I will keep an open mind.”
Docherty denied a third offence of sexually assaulting the first child when she was aged between four and six years-old, which was accepted by the Crown.
